Investment in Community Fellowship

Regulations

The Foundation regards the acceptance of a Fellowship as a contract, requiring fulfillment of the following terms:

1) Fellows are required to pursue a full-time course of study, beginning with the Fall term following acceptance of their Fellowship award.

2) Any major change in plans that will affect the use of the Fellowship funds requires prior written approval of the Clark Foundation.

3) Fellowships are paid directly to the educational institution the Fellow attends and will be distributed to the Fellow per that institution’s financial aid regulations. Payment will not be made until the Fellow has provided proof of enrollment in a graduate program.

4) Ascertaining tax liability for the Fellowship is the responsibility of the Fellow.

5) Fellows are responsible for reporting the Fellowship as income to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.

6) Fellowship funds may not be used for activities that will benefit, supplement, or aid academic institutions or departments with which applicants are affiliated.

7) If the applicant is awarded a Fellowship, these instructions will become part of the Fellowship contract (please retain for your records).
